Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

Job Summary: EMCOR Services Combustioneer is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join their team in Lanham, Maryland. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for providing estimates of mechanical costs to the Combustioneer Sales Team that is to be used in mechanical job and service contract proposals. You are in direct support of the Business Development Manager and the Sales Account Manager Team. You may support other members of the Operations Team in addition to the Sales Team. You will assist the Sales Team in proposing and developing estimates and assist with building relationships with clients. You will support the sales team with bidding projects and providing budgets to clients. The projects may include but are not limited to Plan & Spec bids; servicing, repair, replacement & installation of HVAC equipment, piping, plumbing equipment and full HVAC system installation & renovation.

You may be asked to perform site visits with sales team and independently in order to assess what our clients' needs are and advise/suggest best solutions and options for them. Provide Labor and material estimates using experience, RS Means and Quote Express Software. You will obtain and review subcontractor and equipment quotes for accuracy. When needed communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and adjust their scope to meet the needs of our clients. The candidate is to assist the Sales Team efforts on selling clients the complete EMCOR Service operations, maintenance, and repair, replacement, and service package. This position will be working with the Business Development Manager/Director to assist with fully realizing the sales potential within each existing commercial account. The Mechanical Estimator will be evaluated upon his/her ability to support the sales team and assist in obtaining the overall sales goals for the company. In addition to these duties, the Mechanical Estimator will be assigned a sales goal of Service Contracts and Services-Projects, as part of the overall contribution to the sales goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for developing estimates of mechanical services to be used in sales presentations, in order to win new customer accounts and providing clients with product services/information. This position also has responsibility to assist with maintaining client pricing and payments, A/R management, client correspondence, Profit/Loss reports, quality assurance (QA) support, and industry and trade show participation.

• Provide cost estimates of labor hours, materials and subcontractor costs for review by sales and construction team on customer projects and services, for use in client proposals.
• Visit sites and conduct walk thru of customer sites to obtain necessary information to formulate estimates for a cost proposal to customer.
• Working with the Director of Sales, Account Managers, Project Managers and Engineering Supervisors in reviewing customer documents to develop proposals for services and improvement programs for mechanical services. Provide cost estimates in labor, materials and subcontracting costs.
• Review blue prints and design plans to determine level of effort for job completion. Visit sites and attend meetings to discuss mechanical solutions in the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia regions.
• Preparing and delivering estimates to clients and provide presentations and business proposals.
• Developing, writing and reviewing client proposal documents including financial and technical sections, to develop estimates for pricing mechanical and service solutions. Use EMCOR Service/Combustioneer Pricing Model Systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business or a technical discipline, preferred.
• 2-5 years experience in HVAC commercial service or related field.
• Knowledge of industry standard mechanical services estimating software.
• Relevant technical experience, preferably in performing mechanical services support and-or Facilities Management or Operations and Maintenance environment.
• Strong work ethic, customer presentation skills and a demonstrated sales aptitude.
• Financial acumen, inclusive of cost modeling for sales proposals.
• Experience in developing technical and cost estimates and proposals.
• Independent decision making is required.
• Computer skills using MS Office required. Strong Excel skills are required.
